Vinales joins Yamaha
Suzuki rider Maverick Vinales will race for the Yamaha MotoGP team in 2017 with Valentino Rossi, according to the Motorsport website. According to reports, Vinales went to Italy where he signed a two-year deal with Yamaha. This means that the 21-year-old Spaniard will replace Jorge Lorenzo, who will be joining Ducati for the 2017 season. An official announcement is expected to be made next Thursday at Mugello ahead of the Italian GP. There has been no mention of who will replace Vinales at Suzuki though media reports seem to favour Ducati rider Andrea Iannone as the man to fill his shoes.
