Niccolo Antonelli beat Jorge Martin to Qatar Moto3 pole by 0.001s

Niccolo Antonelli took a maiden Moto3 pole for the SIC58 squad, after snatching top spot from Jorge Martin by just 0.001 seconds. FP3 pacesetter Aron Canet cut throw the sand being blown around the 3.34-mile Losail Circuir in the opening stages of qualifying to go top with a 2:07.836s, improving substantially on his next lap to a 2:07.362s. RBA Racing's Gabriel Rodrigo took over from the Spaniard moments later, the double pole winner from 2017 edging ahead with a 2:07.358s, though his time at the top was short-lived as Martin went almost four tenths clear with a 2:06.996s.
