Sachsenring MotoGP: Lorenzo escapes injury in practice crash

Andrea Iannone ended up fastest in a rain-hit first practice session for the German MotoGP round at the Sachsenring, as reigning champion Jorge Lorenzo was among three riders to crash in the opening stages. The 45-minute session began in cool, dry conditions before the rain fell just shy of the one-third mark, by which time Lorenzo, Stefan Bradl and Scott Redding had all suffered falls at Turn 11. Redding was the first, the Pramac rider's crash occurring mere minutes into the session, before Lorenzo and Bradl both fell near-simultaneously.  Lorenzo appeared to hurt his left wrist in the impact with the gravel trap, and was taken to the medical centre for a precautionary check. The...
