Iannone had the "possibility" to stay with Ducati

Outgoing Ducati rider Andrea Iannone says he had the "possibility" to remain with the Italian manufacturer, but found the deal on offer unsatisfactory. Iannone, whose switch to Suzuki was confirmed earlier on Thursday, has been a Ducati rider since 2013, spending two seasons on a satellite Pramac bike before switching to the factory team last year. It was widely recognised that him and Andrea Dovizioso were in a head-to-head fight to join marquee newcomer Jorge Lorenzo in the works squad next year - with Dovizioso's re-signing eventually being announced on Tuesday.
