Le Mans MotoGP: Pedrosa heads Lorenzo in FP1

Honda rider Dani Pedrosa kicked off the MotoGP weekend at Le Mans by topping the first free practice session, as he dethroned Yamaha's Jorge Lorenzo with a late flyer. Pedrosa and Lorenzo were separated by 0.044s at the chequered flag, more than two tenths up on the rest of the field. The first set of flying laps in the opening minutes of the weekend ended with Tech 3's Pol Espargaro on top with a 1m35.054s lap, a tenth up on the field. The Spaniard remained the pacesetter as the session edged close to the halfway point, before Andrea Iannone went 0.004s quicker.
