Vinales aims to spring a “surprise” in Jerez MotoGP race

Suzuki’s Maverick Vinales says he hopes to cause a “surprise” in Sunday’s Jerez MotoGP race after ending qualifying some way behind the leaders. The Spaniard lapped within half a second of poleman Valentino Rossi’s pace during FP3 on Saturday morning, but was unable to make the same step as his competitors in qualifying.
