Marquez breaks hand during bike crash

Reigning World Champion Marc Marquez is expected to be fit for the race in Japan despite breaking his hand during a mountain bike accident on Tuesday. The Repsol Honda rider was out training with his brother, Alex, on the outskirts of Cervera, Lleida, when he fell and broke the fifth metacarpal on his left hand. He underwent surgery with Dr. Xavier Mir in Barcelona and the operation was declared a success with the Spaniard set to head to Japan as per the original schedule next week.
