Marquez undergoes surgery after mountain bike accident

MotoGP world champion Marc Marquez has undergone surgery after suffering a fracture in a mountain bike crash while training. The Honda rider, who crashed out of the Aragon Grand Prix last weekend, fell and broke a finger of his left hand while riding on the outskirts of Cervera, Lleida on Tuesday. Marquez underwent surgery, carried out by Dr. Xavier Mir, who declared the operation a success, according to Honda. The team said Marquez is expected to be fit to ride in the Japanese Grand prix in ten days' time.
