Baz ruled out of Assen, Pirro to fill in
Loris Baz will not be fit to compete in next weekend's Assen MotoGP round, with Ducati tester Michele Pirro once again filling in for the French rider as he continues his recovery. The Avintia Racing's rider had injured his foot after a crash in the Italian Grand Prix, after which Baz underwent surgery. The 23-year-old was hoping to make his return in the eighth round of the season, the Dutch TT, but he will not be fit enough to compete in the weekend. His recovery is going in the right direction as the stitches were removed on Thursday. He is slated for another hospital visit next Thursday to remove the two pins from his right foot.
