Andrea Iannone remained quickest in the third and penultimate practice session ahead of the season-opening MotoGP Qatar Grand Prix. Iannone posted his quickest lap, a :154.639, during the closing minutes of the session to jump to the front of the pack, eventually finishing 0.137s clear of Jorge Lorenzo. Honda's Marc Marquez was third quickest, overcoming some issues with his Honda bike, to finish just two-tenths adrift of Iannone and a tenth ahead of Ducati's second bike of Andrea Dovizioso.
