Rain was the ‘key moment’, Marquez controlled the ‘whole race’ - Oliviera

Miguel Oliveira’s consecutive run of MotoGP podium finishes has been extended to three following a second place finish at the German GP.  Oliveira and Marc Marquez had been the two standout riders when it came to long run pace, which held true to form during the 30 lap race.  But light rain drops on lap five while Marquez was leading was the key to victory as the eight-time world champion extended his lead to two seconds, as Oliveira was cooped up behind Aleix Espargaro who struggled with the tricky conditions.  Oliveira did all he could to close the gap once he got past Espargaro and Jack Miller, but was unable to bring Marquez' lead to under a second.  Related Articles German...
