Star rookie Fabio Quartararo stormed to Moto3 pole at the first track this season he is familiar with, securing the front spot on the grid at a sunny Jerez. The Estrella Honda rider repeatedly edged ahead as the lap times dropped with his best of 1m 46.791 giving the 16-year-old his first pole on just his fourth Grand Prix appearance. Quartararo's lap also showed great timing by rider and team as traffic then held up many of his rivals as the clock ticked down.
