Petronas: Riders 'fit and ready' for 'new challenges'

Petronas SRT team director Johan Stigefelt acknowledges the revised MotoGP calendar will place new challenges and demands on his riders, but is confident all six are prepared both mentally and physically for what lies ahead. The new 13-round line-up takes place on eight European circuits, starting at Jerez on July 19. There will be five back-to-back events, repeat visits to the same track on consecutive weekends, and three groups of three races in a row. “I think the calendar is more or less the maximum that we can do in this short time," Stigefelt said.
