MotoGP season start delayed as Spanish GP postponed

Organisers of the MotoGP World Championship have confirmed that the Spanish Grand Prix has been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. MotoGP had issued a revised calendar in the wake of initial disruption caused by the virus, with only Moto2 and Moto3 taking part in the season-opening Qatar Grand Prix. Further events were postponed and the Spanish Grand Prix, scheduled for 1-3 May at Jerez, was due to start the premier class campaign.
