Silverstone keeps MotoGP through to 2021
Silverstone has secured a new one-year deal with Dorna Sports to continue hosting MotoGP through 2021, while also confirming the full circuit will be resurfaced in June. Silverstone was at the centre of controversy last year when the British Grand Prix had to be cancelled due to the circuit's new asphalt being unable to drain the heavy rain which fell throughout Sunday. An enquiry was launched to determine what went wrong with the asphalt – circuit work carried out by Aggregate Industries - though the findings of which have yet to be made public.
