Movistar Yamaha's Maverick Vinales has, at least for now, put his argument with the M1 behind him as he topped the timesheets on day one of MotoGP testing in Qatar but it was a close-run thing as the top 17 were covered by just one second in the desert. Vinales set a 1'55.053 on his 50th lap of 64 to best Ducati's Andrea Dovizioso by 0.051s with Ecstar Suzuki's Andrea Iannone a surprise in third and only another three one-thousandths further back.
