MotoGP to test new bike swap procedure

– MotoGP riders will trial a revised bike swap procedure following Friday's second practice session for the British Grand Prix, in a bid to improve safety.Under MotoGP regulations, riders are permitted to swap bikes in the event of weather conditions changing during a race, a situation which occurred most recently at the Czech Republic Grand Prix.During that race, Aprilia's Aleix Espargaró was released into the path of the incoming Andrea Iannone, who consequently crashed as he tried to take evasive action.Espargaró suggested in the aftermath of the incident that revisions to the current procedure were required, and MotoGP officials will test out a tweaked format at Silverstone.The...
