Qatar MotoGP race will no longer be postponed for rain

MotoGP organisers have concluded that the season-opening race in Qatar could take place in the event of rain, after carrying out a test on a wet track in the dark. The race takes place at night at Losail, and fears that reflections created by the artificial lights could cause danger have always led to the schedule being suspended in case of rain. The most problematic case was in 2009, when heavy rain fell on the Qatar circuit, forcing race direction to postpone it until Monday.
