Valentino Rossi says he hopes new Yamaha MotoGP teammate Maverick Vinales doesn’t become “even better” than the rider he replaces, Jorge Lorenzo. Suzuki convert Vinales set the pace on his first outing for Yamaha in last year’s post-Valencia test, and is said to have impressed later in the month during private testing at Sepang. Official testing resumes on Monday at the Malaysian track, where Rossi and Vinales will develop the 2017-spec M1 that was revealed last week in Madrid.
