MotoGP: Catalunya confirm circuit modifications for the future

The Catalunya circuit that hosts MotoGP’s visit to Barcelona have confirmed that emergency changes made to the track made this year after the tragic death of Luis Salom will become a permanent modification to the circuit going forwards. Salom was killed during Moto2 free practice for this year’s race, and the track was changed immediately afterwards for the remainder of the weekend, moving to the chicane that the Formula 1 championship use. However, a new circuit will now be added to slightly change the F1 corner, removing the fast turn 12 where Salom crashed from the track.
