Rossi: Brno qualifying “disaster” was “like the centre of Rome”

Yamaha's Valentino Rossi likened the closing moments of qualifying for the Czech Grand Prix to the heavy traffic in the city centre of Rome. Rossi was passed by Honda's Marc Marquez – who was completing his pole position lap – just before he started his final flyer. It meant he had to repass Marquez at Turn 1, and didn’t improve on his earlier qualifying time, almost a second off the pace. The Italian will start sixth as a result. Rossi ran the harder front tyre for his first attempt, and switched to the faster soft front for the second – but was unable to get a clear lap.
