Stat analysis: Can Lorenzo still win the MotoGP title?

With nine races remaining on this year's MotoGP calendar, reigning champion Jorge Lorenzo has a mammoth task to retain his crown. Jamie Klein delves into the record books to see just what chance the Spaniard has. At the halfway point of the season, Marc Marquez could be forgiven for feeling pretty good about himself. His current advantage in the points standings – 48 points – gives him the enviable luxury of failing to score points in two races in a row and still most likely lead the championship, or at worst be just two points adrift. But, setting it within its historical context, Marquez's lead becomes even more impressive – and Lorenzo's job in clawing it back even harder....
