Marquez's gamble yields German win

An inspired decision to pit early for slicks as the Sachsenring circuit dried handed Marc Marquez his seventh successive race win in Germany. Despite the showers abating in the build-up to the 30-lap German GP, the race got under way on a very wet track and one rider short as Stefan Bradl was declared unfit due to a concussion sustained in a warm-up fall. Valentino Rossi was the first to lead before Andrea Dovizioso passed him at Turn 8 only for the Ducati rider to lose out to Danilo Petrucci, who made his move at the bottom of the Waterfall.
