MotoGP signs agreement with Finland for 2018 race

MotoGP is poised to visit Finland in 2018, after promoter Dorna Sports signed an agreement with the under-construction Kymi Ring track. It will be the first time that Grand Prix motorcycle racing will have visited the Nordic country since 1982, which marked the championship's last race at the Imatra track. The new Kymi Ring facility is located near the town of Kausala, and is designed by Clive Bowen's Apex Circuit Design firm. It will be 4.8km long and feature 15 turns. Plans for the track were first unveiled last year, with a view to a place on the MotoGP calendar in 2017, but a deal to join the schedule in 2018 has now been confirmed, subject for the track being homologated.
