Marc Marquez takes Germany pole as Jorge Lorenzo crashes out twice

Honda's Marc Marquez will start the German round of the MotoGP championship from pole position after nearest championship rival Jorge Lorenzo crashed out twice, meaning the Yamaha rider starts just 11th. Marquez secured a dominant pole by more than four-tenths to Avintia's Hector Barbera on Saturday around the Sachsenring, with the pair sharing the front-row with Yamaha's Valentino Rossi, third. There have been no shortage of crashes this weekend so far, but with perfect conditions for qualifying, fewer crashes were expected. But Lorenzo suffered a nightmare session as he fell in Q1 at Turn 8, narrowly making the Q2 cut by just 0.050s. The Spaniard would fall again though...
