MotoGP Assen: Rossi made ‘right rear tyre choice' in qualifying

Movistar Yamaha’s Valentino Rossi’s late tyre change helped him clinch a front row start for the MotoGP race at Assen tomorrow. The qualifying session started off very wet after an earlier down pour, but the rain soon stopped and the Dutch track started to dry slightly. But instead of putting in a intermediate tyre when he pitted, the multiple champion decided to go with a new wet tyre, and his decision worked. Last year’s race winner's strategy paid off, but he did not initially plan on making his way back to his garage for a tyre change, but he is ‘happy’ that he did.
