MotoGP bans winglets from 2017

– The Grand Prix Commission has elected to ban the use of winglets in MotoGP from the start of the 2017 season.The aerodynamic devices have been a source of controversy in MotoGP, with claims that they were both unaesthetically pleasing and presented a danger to riders.The devices, which had already been banned on bikes in the junior categories, will still be permitted for the remainder of the current campaign."The Commission unanimously agreed that, with effect from the 2017, the use of aerodynamic wings in the MotoGP class will be banned," read a statement."The actual regulation will replicate those for the Moto3 and Moto2 classes where the use of wings is already...
