Assen MotoGP: Iannone edges Rossi by 0.004s in FP2

Andrea Iannone stayed on top in second practice for the Dutch TT at Assen, beating compatriot Valentino Rossi by a scant 0.004s in an end-of-session showdown. It was Marc Marquez, who struggled to 11th during first practice, who made much of the initial running, quickly beating the FP1 benchmark established by Iannone in the opening runs with a 1m34.292s. The Honda rider worked his way down to a 1m33.924s by the time he returned to the pits, having set a time that would remain unbeaten until the closing moments as riders headed out for new-tyre runs.
