Grand Prix Commission bans Moto3 winglets immediately

The Grand Prix Commission, MotoGP’s top rule-making body, have elected to move forward the ban on winglets in the Moto3 class, moving forward the rule change initially set to come into place at the end of the season. Mainly affecting the factory Mahindras, who tested the drag-reduction winglets at the start of the season, the rule brings Moto3 into line with the middleweight Moto2s, who saw the technology banned from the opening round at Qatar. However, the commission have yet to announce their plans with regards to the aerodynamic features in the premiere class.
