Rossi beats Lorenzo to Jerez pole position

– Valentino Rossi produced a last gasp effort to snatch pole position from Yamaha team-mate Jorge Lorenzo for the Spanish Grand Prix at Jerez.Lorenzo and Honda's Marc Márquez gradually lowered the benchmark throughout the 15 minute session, with the reigning World Champion leading the way on a 1.38.858.Lorenzo looked set for top spot until Rossi joined the fray with a lap of 1:38.736 to move to the front of the pack.Neither Lorenzo nor Márquez could respond, with Rossi ending the session with an advantage of 0.122s, as Márquez ended 0.033s further adrift of his compatriot.Andrea Dovizioso was fourth for Ducati, eight-tenths behind Rossi, as he edged out Suzuki's Maverick Viñales...
