Danilo Petrucci to miss season-opening Qatar MotoGP race

Pramac Ducati rider Danilo Petrucci will miss the season-opening MotoGP race in Qatar following a further examination of the hand injury he sustained during testing at Phillip Island. Petrucci sat out the final winter test at Losail as he recovered from a broken second, third and fourth metacarpals of his right hand, but had hoped to compete this weekend. A further X-ray showed a 'dislocated bone segment' and his team have therefore advised him against competing, later confirming the Italian had agreed to sit out the event, despite taking part in first, second and third practice in which he finished 14th.
