FIM confirms stewarding revamp for MotoGP

FIM president Vito Ippolito has confirmed MotoGP stewarding will have a new structure in 2016 following the clash between Marc Marquez and Valentino Rossi last year. As reported last month, MotoGP was planning a revamp of its stewarding panel in order to avoid controversies such as the one involving Marquez and Rossi during the Malaysian Grand Prix last season. The Grand Prix Commission met in Geneva on Friday and decided to create a new panel of three stewards that will be independent from race direction.
