The World Superbike championship will return to the Lausitzring next season as part of a new three-year deal with the German track, it has been announced. Lausitz first appeared on the WSBK calendar in 2001, hosting its fifth and final race meeting in 2007, when Noriyuki Haga and Troy Bayliss shared the victories. It was replaced by the Nurburgring from 2008, which in turn was dropped from the series' schedule after 2013, leaving World Superbikes with no German round. A new deal between series promoter Dorna and Lausitz however means the track will be part of the WSBK calendar from next year until at least 2018.
