Lorenzo soaks up pressure despite “destroyed” rear tyre

MotoGP champion Jorge Lorenzo says he was “praying for the race to finish” after a tension-filled Valencia Grand Prix finale. Lorenzo won the final MotoGP round of the season to clinch the title by five points ahead of Valentino Rossi, but could not allow the Repsol Hondas of Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa to pass him – as Rossi had risen to fourth from the back of the grid.
