Honest Lowes admits, 'I didn't have the same pace'

Sam Lowes accepted his pace had simply not been enough to live with the leaders in Sunday's shortened Moto2 race at Aragon, as he eventually stood on the podium for the first time since June. Fourth fastest in qualifying, Lowes instantly shot to the front of the field after the initial start until a clash between Xavier Simeon and Dominque Aegerter brought out the red flags. Upon restarting, the 25-year old soon found his rear tyre, that had cooled after the stoppage before coming up to working temperature once more, didn't offer sufficient grip.
