Jorge Lorenzo to have surgery on scaphoid fracture

Repsol Honda has confirmed that Jorge Lorenzo is to undergo surgery after sustaining a fracture in his left wrist while training this weekend. Italian publication Corriere del Veneto revealed that Lorenzo had visited hospital in Verona on Saturday complaining of pain in his left hand. He was discharged after two hours but was set for further checks on Monday. Lorenzo’s Repsol Honda team has now confirmed that he sustained a fracture to his left scaphoid and it will be operated upon tomorrow (Monday), once further checks have been completed.
