Jonas Folger withdraws from MotoGP season to focus on recovery

Jonas Folger has withdrawn from the entirety of the 2018 MotoGP season in order to focus on his recovery from illness. Folger stepped up to the premier class with Tech 3 last year and finished on the podium at his home event in Germany, having challenged Marc Marquez for much of the race. Folger, though, missed the latter phase of the campaign due to illness, which was subsequently diagnosed as a strain of Gilbert Syndrome, a common genetic disorder, in which the liver is unable to process toxins effectively.
