Barbera to sub for Iannone, Jones debuts with Avintia

Hector Barbera will graduate to the factory Ducati team this weekend at Motegi, substituting for the injured Andrea Iannone, while Mike Jones will replace Barbera in the Avintia team. The Spaniard who currently holds 10th place in the championship, will replace the Italian who lies two spots ahead of him on the points table. Barbera will thus get an early taste of the bike Avinita will run next season, as they upgrade from a 2014 Ducati to the GP Desmosedici 2016. Iannone, who failed to start at Misano and Aragon due to a cracked vertebra incurred in a fall in the former event,  announced earlier this week that he would not be able to race this weekend.
