Moto2: Home hero Lowes takes pole after fuel drama
Sam Lowes ended a drama filled qualifying with his second Moto2 pole position following a gutsy performance to rescue his session involving running with his bike back to the pits after running out of fuel on the opposite side of the track at the British round of the championship at Silverstone. Speed Up rider Lowes admitted missing his board telling him to come in to refuel resulting in the British rider racing back to the pits to rejoin with just six minutes left to make a difference. The lap record had already fallen again, to Tito Rabat and Alex Rins, who had been peerless in the morning practice session when he had originally smashed the record.
