Marquez underlines Sachsenring dominance with pole

Marc Marquez bagged his third successive MotoGP pole at the Sachsenring in Germany with a new record lap of 1m 20.336s. It was the MotoGP world champion's sixth consecutive pole at the circuit, with the Repsol Honda rider claiming five victories from his sensational run of qualifying feats. Marquez held off team-mate Dani Pedrosa by almost 0.3s to shatter his pole record from 2014 by half-a-second, with Movistar Yamaha's Jorge Lorenzo completing the front row, 0.585s behind Marquez. Pedrosa, who lapped in 1m 20.628s, appeared upset by Cal Crutchlow, who was moving slowly on the racing line at Turn 12 although the British rider seemed to apologise as they lined up to practice their starts...
