Dutch TT moved to Sunday for 2016
The Dutch TT will move from its traditional Saturday slot to become a Sunday MotoGP race next year, organisers announced on Thursday. The Assen race has usually been held on the last Saturday of June, being the only race in the world championship calendar not taking place on Sunday. However, in order to boost attendance, the Assen board has decided to move the race from next year. "In the current Dutch leisure pattern a top sporting event on a Sunday is more attractive than on a Saturday," said a statement by Assen.
