Barbera undergoes arm pump surgery

Avintia Racing's Hector Barbera underwent compartment syndrome surgery as he looks to resolve arm pump issues in his right forearm. The Spaniard had an MRI on Monday after experiencing problems with his forearm during last weekend's Italian GP at Mugello, the third race in which he had been hampered by the issue. The results of the scan indicated an arm pump problem, and Barbera went under the knife on Monday afternoon. A statement released by Avintia Racing said that the operation had been a success. “The operation, made by Dr Xavier Mir, has lasted 70 minutes and he used microsurgical techniques to release the extensor and flexor fascia of the right forearm," the statement read....
