Yamaha: Jorge had 'ulterior motive' for test deal…

The ban on wild-cards this season means retired MotoGP champion Jorge Lorenzo will not be able to make a planned Yamaha race return at Catalunya, plus possible further outings at Misano and Motegi. According to Yamaha Racing managing director Lin Jarvis, it also prevents Lorenzo getting a clear answer on whether he has the desire and speed to make a full-time comeback in the premier-class. "Jorge wanted to do tests and a race this year. But I think he had an ulterior motive. He also wanted to find out if he was still interested enough to return to racing," Jarvis told Speedweek.com.
