Rossi quickest as testing resumes

MotoGP returned to action at the Sepang circuit on Monday with Valentino Rossi quickest on Day One, unchallenged late in the day due to a rain shower. The Yamaha rider, debuting the team's new gearbox, covered 54 laps on the day with a best time of 2:00.401. Taking the P1 slot off Aleix Espargaro in the second hour of testing, Rossi's time proved to be unbeatable as the day wore on. Dani Pedrosa was second quickest, bringing his Honda RC213V home 0.129s behind Rossi while Pol Espargaro impressed for Monster Tech 3 Yamaha.
