Suzuki's Joan Mir to miss Austrian GP through injury following 300km/h test crash

Joan Mir will miss this weekend’s Austrian Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring through an injury picked up as a result of a 300km/h crash during Monday’s post-Brno test. Mir crashed his GSX-RR machine through Turn 1 at roughly 300km/h, the Spaniard requiring trackside medical assistance shortly after the incident before being transported to the circuit medical centre. He was subsequently diagnosed with a pulmonary contusion and moved to Brno’s local hospital so he could be kept under observation.
