Joan Mir suffers pulmonary contusion in 300km/h Brno test crash

Team Suzuki Ecstar rider Joan Mir has been diagnosed with a pulmonary contusion after he suffered a high-speed crash during Monday's Brno test. Mir fell at Turn 1 towards the end of the session, hitting the airfence at almost 186mph (300km/h). The session was immediately red flagged as the marshals attended to the Spaniard. He was then taken to the circuit's medical centre before being transferred by helicopter to a local hospital. The 2017 Moto3 champion was diagnosed with a pulmonary contusion and will remain in hospital overnight to monitor his condition. He escaped serious injury and is expected to be fit to participate in this weekend's Austrian Grand Prix...
