Stefan Bradl announced as Lorenzo Honda MotoGP replacement for German GP at Sachsenring

HRC have announced that MotoGP test and reserve rider Stefan Bradl will take over from the injured Jorge Lorenzo for his home race at the Sachsenring this weekend. The German was expected to be called up by the factory Honda squad to deputise for Lorenzo, who fractured his back in an FP2 crash on Friday at Assen, having competed in six races over the the last two seasons, his latest outing coming at Jerez earlier this year, as a wildcard for the team. Lorenzo is expected to return for the Czech GP at Brno next month, with Bradl making his first MotoGP appearance in Repsol colours in the meantime.
