MotoGP Phillip Island: Arenas wins as Martin gets breathing room

Albert Arenas won his second ever Grand Prix; however behind the Spaniard Jorge Martin extended his lead in the Moto3 World Championship after title challenger Marco Bezzecchi was once again taken out. Arenas was one of many riders who led in the race and decided that would be where he felt safest despite the constant threat of slipstream. With the lead changing almost each lap, it was Arenas who kept his nerve and ended up holding off Fabio Di Giannantonio by just 0.052 seconds. Moto3 rookie Celestino Vietti was just a further 0.007 seconds behind his compatriot to claim his first World Championship podium on his second outing.
