MotoGP Motegi: Quartararo wins as Bagnaia extends World Championship lead

Fabio Quartararo won his second ever Moto2 race, holding off Pecco Bagnaia as the Italian extended his lead in the Moto2 World Championship over Miguel Oliveira to 35 points with three races remaining. The pole sitter Bagnaia got away well and tucked in behind Quartararo who got sensational drive off the line and the front two immediately started working to try and break away from the chasing pack. Bagnaia fought back and led the opening stages, but Quartararo then moved into the lead in the downhill 90-degree corner.
