Jorge Lorenzo piped Andrea Dovizioso to the pole position by just 0.014 seconds to take his fourth MotoGP pole position of the season in Aragon. Marc Marquez was the fastest man after the first runs. Lorenzo had the pace to challenge Marquez, but his Desmosedici was squirrely coming out of the final corner. After a mid-session lull, and second laps, Marquez was still leading the field, however when he looked like he may be improving, he lost his time for running wide at the ‘bus stop’ section of the track leaving him open to both Lorenzo and Dovizioso.
